About Me

I have committed myself to learning the art and trade of game development. I specialise in design but have an approximate knowledge of many fields that I use to craft experiences for the player. My friendliness and decisiveness has led me into several leadership positions where I have worked with people from many disciplines and dispositions. I prefer short indie experiences with a clear player experience goal, an engaging gameplay loop, and a strong theme.

Games Experience

Solo Developer

Centre of Excellence of the Digital Child - 2023-2025

I developed a collection of eye movement tasks in Unity that were designed based on validated measures. These were used to better understand whether the eye movements of nuerodiverse children in digital contexts affected learning outcomes. During this I collaborated with researchers as clients, working with them to clarify the requirements of the programs, and creating clear documentation for future developers to work with.

Solo Developer

PhD Research Development Artefact - 2020-2025

During the course of my PhD I designed and developed a videogame for the purposes of conducting my experiments. Using a combination of online assets and my own work, I made 10+ different versions of the same experience. I collected data from 600+ people online using a WebGL build that tracked how many people had experienced each version of the game.

Producer/Level Designer

Arque Skies - 2018

As one of seven people I was in charge of managing the team and communicating with external stakeholders. I also spearheaded the implementation of the level and introductory player experience.

Producer/Level Designer

It Grabbed Me From The Depths! - 2017

As part of a game jam organised by QUT Game Development Club, I led twelve other people from concept through to release assisting and directing at every level. I designed and implemented the difficulty curve for level one.

Level Designer/Game Designer

Quantum Marbles - 2017

I led the level design of the game, paper prototyping initial levels and providing feedback for iteration on all future ones before I implemented them. I prototyped the initial game and puzzle mechanics.

Game Designer/Level Designer

Runihura: Origins - 2017

On a team of four, I spearheaded the game design and mechanic implementation. Working closely with the other level designer, I designed and implemented the levels puzzles and all combat encounters. Finding creative solutions to limitations of the map editor became a necessary skill.
